More about The Lytham St Annes Guardian Concert Band
The band was formed over 30 years ago – predominately made up of employees from the Guardian Royal Exchange in Lytham.
Since then the band has evolved and now members come from a wide cross section of the community. It includes people from various professions, those who are retired and students.
Guardian Ensemble was formed in Jan 2010 and comprises of 12 Brass & Woodwind players from the band. The Ensemble promotes the full band. It also offers performance where volume of sound, price and space are a concern.
The Ensemble is very fortunate to be led by 2 very talented musicians. Peter Goleby (solo clarinet) who also arranges for band and ensemble, as well as Annette Munro (solo clarinet).
Paul Cooper was the band’s Musical Director for 17 years. Paul retired in December 2018. He’s followed by a new musical director, Peter Ledder. Peter joined in February 2019.
Band for Hire
The band is available for hire for club days, fetes, parties, local events or concerts. Hire is at a very reasonable price. If the full band is too large, we can provide a smaller number of players for specific occasions.
