Paddling Pool and Splash!

At St Annes seafront there are two great water-play areas for children. There’s the Paddling Pool and Splash! One’s traditional, the other modern but both are great fun on warm days!

Paddling Pool

You can find the free-to-use St Annes paddling pool adjacent to St Annes Pier. It’s next to the pretty Victorian bandstand and dates back to 1912. Fylde Council look after the paddling pool and have made many improvements to the original design. Today it’s a popular and very well used free attraction.

The FREE to use paddling pool on St Annes promenade is open throughout the summer.

Fylde Council will be regularly monitoring it throughout. You can find updates about any temporary paddling pool closures for cleaning/maintenance on Facebook.

Improving St Annes Paddling Pool

A programme of improvements took place in Spring 2022, to install a ramp and new handrail. New resurfacing with non-slip material made it more accessible for people of all ages and abilities.

Splash!

Guarded by dolphins, Splash! is a safe, play water park for little ones on St Annes Promenade, opposite The Island Complex.

Designed for children aged 3-12 years who can enjoy spray loops, water sprays, bucket drops, water domes and a paddling section. It’s perfect for keeping the little ones cool and entertained throughout the warmer months.

Splash! Opening Times and Booking

• Splash is open from 10am to 4pm, seven days a week (subject to weather)
• From Easter-time through to September.
• There’s five hourly-sessions per day
• Book your session online up to one week in advance or call 07917 234442
• Or come along on the day. Same-day sessions available for walk-in customers paying by card at the venue at the start of each session
• Splash! is just £2 per child for an hour of play.
• Weekly sessions for children with disabilities and special educational needs are available throughout the season.

Splash with thanks to your Friends

The Promenade Gardens Friends group began working in partnership with Fylde Council on this community project way back in 2016. They created the fully inclusive facility on the Promenade Gardens, opposite The Island complex at St. Anne’s. The brand new St Annes Splash Park and outdoor water play opened on 3 April 2019.

The project cost around £259,000, achieved through funding from Fylde Council plus grant aid raised by the friends group. Monies were also secured from other sources including LCC Environment and Community Projects Fund and Lancashire Environmental Action Fund. Section 106 contributions, the LCC Local Members Grant Scheme and local business donations.

The Splash Park joins the child friendly rides, bouncy trampolines, train, kiddies’ playground, paddling pool, pier and award winning beach. Not forgetting the cafes, gift shops, ice cream parlours and lovely ornamental gardens!
