No visit to Blackpool is complete without a visit to the Piers. Blackpool South Pier is the one near to the Pleasure Beach and Sandcastle Waterpark. It’s the one with the high adrenaline rides right at the end of it!
Blackpool is lucky. While many seaside towns don’t even have one pier, Blackpool has THREE! It’s a fun day out for all of the family to enjoy.
- Admission to South Pier is FREE.
- South Pier reopens on February 8, open daily for the Feb half term. Then open every weekend until the Easter holidays.
- All opening hours are weather dependant.
Arcade at Blackpool South Pier
You’ll find the biggest selection of Pinball machines in Blackpool in the amusement arcade on South Pier.
Plus retro machines for mum and dad, Donkey Derby, arcade video games and other timeless favourites.
Along with big cash prize machines and traditional slots, it’s one of those places you’ve just got to visit during your holiday!
Blackpool South Pier is where you’ll find fairground rides for little kids and big thrill seekers!
Try the Crazy Coaster spinning wild mouse
Will you get wet on the Log Flume?
If you’re really looking for a thrill there’s the Adrenaline Zone with the Sky Screamer and Sky Coaster rides, over the sea at the end of the pier. Not for the faint hearted!
There’s strictly no adults on the children’s rides. Sorry! Your little ones will have a great time on the Train, the Teacups, Carousel, Inflatable Slide and many more.
Games and Stalls at South Pier
Every self respecting seaside pier has a great selection of side stalls, cafes and kiosks!
There’s plenty of things to catch your eye on Blackpool South Pier, including all of your funfair favourites like hook-a-duck, hoopla, darts and more.
When you’re feeling peckish, stop off at the Happy Haddock – the fish and chip restaurant which sells a variety of favourites as well as fish and chips.
Entry to rides is by ticket – tickets can only be used on the pier where they were purchased.
The Laughing Donkey Family Bar
There’s fun and entertainment for everyone in the Laughing Donkey Family Bar at Blackpool South Pier from March to November.
The award winning team are in residence at weekends and during the school holidays.

Do you love sports? This is the perfect place for you then! See all kinds of sports from darts to football on the big screens. Watch outside on sunny days in the huge beer garden overlooking the sea. Weather not so good? No problem – this Sports Bar has large screens inside too!
Blackpool South Pier is open at weekends until Easter and then daily throughout the season.
The arcade at the front entrance to the Pier is open every day from the beginning of February.
