St Annes International Kite Festival 2019. The seafront will be awash with colour as fabulous display kites take to the air on the beach adjacent to the pier. (Above photo by Dawn Mander).
St Annes Kite International Kite Festival 2019
CANCELLED – for 10 and 11 August 2019 at St Annes Beach near the Pier
The GOOD NEWS is that Fylde Council has rearranged the event for the weekend of 6, 7 and 8 September!
But a little bit of an event DID take place!
Weather dependent events around the UK have taken a battering this weekend. The Kite Festival at St Annes on Sea was just one of many events that was cancelled, before being rescheduled.
With near-perfect conditions for kite flying on Friday afternoon, some flyers took the opportunity to show off their magnificent kites knowing the Kite Festival had been cancelled on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday morning and the skies should have been full of kites and the beach jam-packed with excited families enjoying this brilliant free annual weekend event. Instead, just a couple of lonely kite flyers tussle with the elements.
Fingers crossed the weather settles down and the sun shines for the rescheduled Kite Festival on 6, 7 and 8 September.
A great big, brilliant FREE family event, with kites of all shapes and sizes from all over the world!
Plus Entertainment, Stalls, Fun Fair Rides, Bouncy Castles, Donkey Rides and loads more. It’s a great day out for all the family.
